Nintendo needs to get rid of Friend Codes!

I am dead serious. They need to. They are annoying and are unneeded, why not use your console's nickname as the friend code. Someone please tell me what you think about Friend Codes.

Most wii owners also agree. The only reason friend codes exist is so that random people can't contact you. It's a security thing, since the wii was designed for all age groups. However, there's still a lot of people who would prefer to use a faster system of online play with friends, similar to xbox live or PSN. I believe in the next generation or installment of the wii, they will upgrade to this or at least only make friend codes a security option if parents want to keep their kids safe. But, for now, we're just going to have to type in those friend codes and deal with it =P

Hey , friend codes are anoying but at least some games such as cod reflex once you have added ur fc, u can change ur name whenever in the game.

We won't see them go anytime soon, but it is starting to become more fair. A few games let's you use your Wii number as your Friend Code and add friends who own the game and is your Wii Friend. Examples are The Conduit and Guitar Hero 5.
