Just expressing my thoughts on the video. The guy made valid points to Keep It, but most of his Trade It points are oudated, therefore invalid, because this video's been made in 2008. This is current 2009 for Wii: Online is getting better (except for the Friend Codes, I think), and so is 3rd party support (Monster Hunter 3, etc.); you can hack the Wii for DVD support, or play movies on SD cards; as for hard-to-find, I-don't-know; and cash-in, depends on the gamer.

Yeah, not much valid reasons to trade in your wii now. Nintendo can easily release a DVD channel and DVDs will instantly work, but I bet they don't want to run into any copy right or anything because everything is possible.

keep in mind, it is screw attack. It isn't focused on journalism. Hell, they use stage names such as "Stuttering Craig."

thats why i don't care for a dvd feature anymore, its 10 years to late, they could add a blu-ray feature, theirs rumours going around that blu-ray might be in the next ninty system..

ahhh. i see some one else here goes throwback huh? i still watch VHS all the time too. but between dvds and blu-ray, i REALLY don't see the reason to get blu-ray over dvd. you just payin more money for the same movies with a little more then a few extra features that are either usless or certainly not worth the extra cash or time...not to mention the picture doesn't look that much more clear for it to be considered. you barely notice a difference.

Most Blu-Ray movies are rarely properly adapted. While HD is better than SD quality, in scenarios it doesn't really matter.

The other problem could also do with your set up. There are few problems with the HD format.

1) Most people don't have the proper set up with HD household setting.
2) Most companies don't properly set it up to HD format.

There are some advantages to Blu Ray. For one, Blu-Rays scratch resistant. Data isn't compressed so the quality of a video can be improved if it is just a data dump.

You could also have a good setting for HD viewing pleasure. Although some people follow the illusion that they did buy a product and will say it is better.
